Life Lessons: Live, Learn, Lead!

“Living Life, Learning Lessons”

Live, Learn, Lead!

We hone our ability to speak, lead, and motivate effectively by what we learn and what we do every day!

Our opportunities for learning are often restricted, however, simply by thinking that learning only happens in set environments or under certain conditions: in a class, watching a video, reading a book, or the like.

The objective of the SLAM project (Speak, Lead And Motivate) is simple: live, learn and lead: and the key to exponentially increasing the ability to learn, develop and grow as a leader is to widen our learning opportunities.

This is, essentially, very simple. Live your life and learn lessons from it. You just need to be alert to each lesson as you meet them.

Open your mind to the concept that every day we say, do, or experience others saying and doing, things that have latent lessons embedded within them; we see people and have conversations, watch the news and surf social-media reels, read books, papers or articles: we experience elements of life in so many forms every day and each one has a lesson to teach!

It is our alertness in spotting these opportunities, our awareness to identify the relevance, and willingness to extract the value from these countless experiences that dictates our full learning potential.

The more we live, the more we learn, and the more we fuel our ability to lead.

My “Life Lessons” series shares some of the lessons I have learned through just living life and will show you how simple things encountered everyday have valuable lessons within them that, with a little pause and some thought, we can pull out, clean up and let shape our growth as a leader.

So, welcome to my “life lessons”, and join me in “living living, learning and leading”.
